Device overview

GoodWe Smart Meter GMK140 is a North America residential CT-based energy meter for compatible GoodWe solar and storage systems. It is used at the grid-connection point so the wider GoodWe system can see household load, grid import, grid export, and export-limit behavior.

Core field decisions

This page is scoped as an energy meter only. GoodWe's current US product page and datasheet support the key comparison fields: 1P2W / 1P3W support, 105-264 V AC operating voltage, RS485 communication, 200 A CT measurement, Class 0.5 voltage/current and active-energy accuracy, DIN-rail mounting, IP20 enclosure, and export power limit plus load monitoring.

Installation and compatibility

The quick installation guide says the meter should be installed indoors or inside a distribution box. Outdoor use needs a waterproof cover. GMK140 communicates to compatible GoodWe residential systems over RS485 / Modbus RTU, and GoodWe positions it for ES-US, SBP-US, and MS-US compatibility.

Solar and Home Assistant context

GMK140 is useful where the inverter needs a grid-point signal for solar self-consumption, export limiting, and load monitoring. Home Assistant support should be read through the GoodWe inverter integration path when the connected GoodWe inverter exposes meter import/export sensors, not as a standalone GMK140-native integration.

Buying notes

GoodWe US provides the official product page, datasheet, manual links, and contact route. The reviewed official source did not show a direct public checkout price, so buyers should confirm availability through GoodWe, an installer, or a regional distributor.
