Device overview
GM PowerUp 2 NACS Charger is a unidirectional Level 2 home EV charger sold through GM / Chevrolet Accessories. It is aimed at North American households with NACS-native GM EVs or other NACS-port vehicles that want a fixed wall or post charger rather than a portable cord set.
Core charging specs
The reviewed GM source lane lists 208/240 V operation, up to 11.5 kW / 48 A output when hardwired on a suitable circuit, and a flexible cord of about 25 ft. GM notes that a 60 A breaker is required to achieve the maximum charging rate and that actual charging speed depends on vehicle, input voltage, settings, battery condition, and ambient temperature.
Installation and connector fit
This is a hardwired EVSE intended for professional installation. The Chevrolet Accessories page describes wall or post mounting, Qmerit-style professional installation context, and a weather-resistant NEMA 4X enclosure for indoor or outdoor use. The connector is native NACS, so this page should not be treated as the J1772 PowerUp 2 SKU.
App, cloud, and update behavior
The charger is Wi-Fi enabled and works with GM vehicle apps such as myChevrolet and myCadillac for connected ownership features. Core charging is hardware-based after installation, but app features, service-plan features, and over-the-air updates depend on GM connectivity and cloud services.
Load management, solar, and OCPP boundaries
The reviewed GM sources support flexible amperage settings during professional installation. They did not verify a charger-native solar-surplus mode, OCPP support, or dynamic whole-home load-management feature for PowerUp 2. Do not confuse this unidirectional charger with GM Energy PowerShift or V2H Enablement Kit products, which should be modeled as separate devices if added later.
Buying notes
The Chevrolet Accessories product page showed MSRP $899 during the 2026-06-20 review. Availability, discounts, shipping, dealer pickup, and professional installation options may vary by ZIP code, participating dealer, and seller configuration.
