Device overview
The Acrel ADW310 is a compact single-phase energy meter for low-voltage distribution boards. It measures voltage, current, active, reactive and apparent power, power factor, frequency, harmonics, and forward and reverse active energy.
Core specifications
The official product page and manual specify a 220 V single-phase measurement context, AC 20(100) A current input, and Class 1 active-energy accuracy. The 100 A ceiling is important for circuit selection: the monitored conductor and matched split-core CT must suit the circuit, and installation should be completed by a qualified electrical professional.
Installation and sensing
ADW310 uses an external split-core current transformer and is intended for installation in a distribution box. Acrel documents matched 10 mm and 16 mm-aperture CT options. This retrofit sensing approach can avoid disconnecting the monitored conductor, but enclosure space, conductor diameter, CT orientation, and safe isolation still need to be checked before installation.
Local communication and cloud boundary
The /C option provides RS485 with Modbus RTU or DL/T 645-07. Acrel publishes register tables in the official manual, so local monitoring does not require a vendor cloud when the Modbus version is selected. Wi-Fi, 4G, and 470 MHz LoRa are separate model options; remote-service and network requirements depend on the selected variant and system design.
Home Assistant compatibility
Home Assistant can read the /C Modbus RTU version through its official Modbus integration, normally using an RS485 adapter and manually configured register entities. This is protocol-level compatibility, not a dedicated Acrel discovery integration.
Solar and import/export use
The meter records forward and reverse active energy. That makes it suitable for directional energy monitoring in a correctly designed solar or import/export installation, but it is not by itself an export-limiting controller. CT orientation, register mapping, and sign conventions must be validated during commissioning.
Best fit and limitations
ADW310 fits single-phase residential, light-commercial, and sub-metering projects that need a 100 A external-CT meter and flexible communications. Buyers needing three-phase measurement should compare the ADW300 or another three-phase meter. Confirm the exact communication suffix, CT aperture, regional wireless approvals, and system integration requirements before ordering.
